Replies to your voice messages are no longer missed

We fixed an issue where a reply to a campaign voice message could be missed by Botdog.
When this happened
This affected campaigns where someone you were already connected with received a voice message as the first and only outreach.
There was no connection request or typed message before the voice note.
What was happening
When the contact replied, Botdog could fail to recognise their message as a reply to your campaign.
This meant:
- The reply did not appear as unread on your dashboard or Contacts list
- The contact was not marked as having replied
- They did not appear when filtering for people who responded
- The reply was not included in the campaign’s reply rate
- Follow-up steps could continue because the campaign did not know the contact had answered
The reply itself was always safe in your LinkedIn inbox. Botdog simply was not recognising it correctly.
What changed
A voice message now counts as campaign contact in the same way as a connection request, typed message, or InMail.
When someone replies to a voice message, Botdog now:
- Flags the reply as unread
- Marks the contact as replied
- Includes it in your campaign reply rate
- Stops follow-up steps as expected
Good to know
This fix applies to replies received from now on.
Replies that arrived before this update were not recorded by Botdog and cannot be added retrospectively.
If you previously ran a voice-first campaign, it may be worth checking those conversations directly in your LinkedIn inbox for any replies that were missed.
